Friday walk with the shelter dogs

Ericeira Paws is a dedicated group of volunteers striving to improve the lives of animals in need in the Mafra/Ericeira area. The non-profit initiative focuses on providing care and support to dogs and cats from the Mafra shelter. Ericeira Paws is committed to providing love, care, and freedom to approximately 40 dogs and 10 cats living in stressful, caged environments.

You can walk one of the dogs at the public shelter in Mafra three times per week – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. The shelter is about a 15-minute drive from the center of Ericeira. Each dog gets about 15-20 minutes of walking and playtime on a small path and play area outside the shelter. This is  the only time they get out of their cages, making it the highlight of their week!
