Let's make Ericeira more bicylce friendly
Together with the Portuguese Kidical Mass organization we organised a Bicycle March in Ericeira in June 2025. Kidical Mass wanted to gather as many cyclists as possible with bicycles — kids bikes, cargo bikes, mountain bikes, electric bikes — for a tour through our beautiful town and organize some events at the start and finish of the tour.
The goal of this bicycle march is to encourage the local government to make Ericeira more accessible for cyclists, so it’s easier for everyone to commute to school, to work or just enjoy a safer and pleasant Ericeira. By adding more bike parking facilities, creating dedicated bike lanes, reducing crossing traffic and 30km or even 20km top speed streets.
Kidical Mass is part of a global movement focused on raising awareness about the importance of cycling for families. They advocate for better cycling infrastructure and safer streets, especially near schools. Their motto is “Space for the This Generation,” which perfectly captures their mission! They are active in over 30 cities across Portugal.

We are planning a second bicycle march beginning of october. We can use your help with:
• Make social media posts
• Help with PR
• Find partners and sponsors
• Help organize the tour
• Prepare a posterworkshop with local children, so that the demonstration gains even more visual strength and meaning
• Join us as a volunteer cyclist during the tour
